Funky Town

I'm feeling funk-y today.

Not the kind of funky that makes you want to tap your toes and shake your tail feather.

Nor the kind that means you are emanating foul odors (though, now that I think about it, I did glance over the whole "bathing" thing this morning... oops)

I mean the "mean reds," as Holly Golightly would call them. The type of funk where you are just confused and a little off. Does that ever happen to you? Maybe it's the start of the new year or the fact that we have some very interesting changes coming up in the next few months.

Most of it has to do with what to do with my life. And my job. And finding what it is that makes me happy (other than the obvious things, like my beliefs and my rad husband).

To get out of the funk and take on this quarter-life crisis, I thought of some outrageous, and not necessarily realistic, hobbies/occupations to add to my bucket list:

-Fulfilling my Kindergarten dreams of doing archaeology

-Having goats and learning how to make delicious cheese from their milk. I'm obsessed.

-Sushi chef... Jordan would be pleased

-Antique dealer/expert

-Gardening virtuoso

-Seamstress extraordinaire

-Starting a restaurant

-One word: Beekeeping. A second word: AWESOME. Amiright!?

Days like these make me grateful for dreams and ambition. And a Heavenly Father who has instilled in us urges to create and succeed.

Here's to the new year and all of the things that we can accomplish in it! Even if we are being a grumpy downer at the moment :)

Homeykins

We got back from our week and a half long vacay last night.

A big thank you to mine and Jordan's families for putting us up in your homes and making us feel so loved and welcome :)

We have the best kin that anyone could ever ask for!

Our trip consisted of lots of relaxing, seeing friends and family, and playing with nieces and nephews. Oh, and eating.

So much eating, in fact, that we have vowed to calm down a bit the next couple of weeks and get back to better habits. After we stuff our pie holes with lots of Italian food tonight. Naturally.

Still haven't figured out my resolutions, yet (maybe one should be avoiding procrastination?), but I am so excited for this year and all of the adventures it will bring!

Much love, muchachos!
